Our Team
OWNER | VETERINARIAN | WHITE WATER KAYAKER
Dr. Sarah Cooper, BS, DVM
Dr. Cooper is a 2005 graduate of NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in addition to her undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University. Following vet school, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at VCA South Shore Animal Hospital in South Weymouth, MA, where she trained under board-certified specialists.
Her passion for emergency medicine and imaging led her back to Boone where she worked as an associate at the Animal Emergency Clinic of the High Country from 2006-2014. During her time there she also pursued advanced training in small animal ultrasound and ultimately decided to pursue a career entirely focused on ultrasound. When she is not working she is pursuing her love of mountain sports and spending time with her family.
Amber Goldman, RVT
SONOGRAPHER | AVID READER
Amber joined the Appalachian Veterinary Ultrasound team in the Spring of 2022. She brings extensive experience of diagnostic imaging experience from working at a Veterinary Specialty and Referral Hospital in Atlanta, where she performed CTs, FAST scans, and radiographs under the supervision of a radiologist.
Continuing education is a passion Amber pursues regularly. This passion has fueled her consultancy at A Rad Vet Tech. As an expert sonographer, she uses her in-the-field knowledge to share radiology techniques in safety and positioning as a speaker and an educator through local, university, and conference settings. In her free time, Amber enjoys reading, playing outside, starting new crafts, finding live music, and eating pizza.
